Following the University’s publication of the Learning Landscapes in Higher Education report in 2010 and the opening of the Business & Law building in 2011, our next experiment is to create three new learning environments in the Main Admin Building this summer. The rooms’ designs are a direct response to Student as Producer.
We have published a detailed business case and design proposal and would welcome your comments, your questions, and your ideas for further projects.

I love some of the concepts, but the rooms look incredibly crowded with chairs.
Thanks, Nick. We’ve mocked this up with real chairs and we think these capacities are optimal. However, we’re going to monitor the rooms closely and adjust capacities up or down based on observations and user feedback.
Really looking forward to this. Was it agreed to include a camera? So any guest lectures can easily be recorded?
Thanks Wez – so are we.
We haven’t included any fixed camera hardware in the room yet; this is an area that we still need to work on. It would be great to have an easy way of capturing lectures – ideally something that people can operate themselves with little / no realtime support needed.
