The extension to the Art, Architecture and Design Building has been completed and is open to staff.
The extension will house more than 60 staff and approximately 1,000 students. The AAD Building is now the largest on campus, with a total area of 12,500 square metres.
Staff from the School of Art and Design are able to move in from today. All staff and students entering the building are asked to wear their ID cards during the next few weeks while the moves programme is taking place. Staff are asked to note that some snagging and minor pieces of building work will continue during the next couple of weeks, but this will not impact on the building’s use.
Had a tour around the new building and it’s impressive, though there’s bound to be teething issues and layout changes, it’s great to see some of the equipment such as the printing presses etc being moved in.
Could anyone answer the question over where the extra staff will be able to park?
Thank you, Chris – it’s looking good.
The team will be monitoring parking space availability closely this term and responding accordingly.
